Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
One thing I have learned as a science teacher at PS. 92 Queens is that science is a subject that draws some students naturally, while others need a little more encouragement. Fun and physics are two words that are not normally associated together. Yet in reality physics can be one of the most entertaining subjects.
A show entitled "Einstein Alive" teaches students about one of the most brilliant minds the world has ever seen in a humorous yet educational way. Not only do the students learn about this man's difficult life but they also learn the basic principles of physics in a fun way.
I would like to book this show for the 500 students in grades three , four and five that I see each week. Most of these students are used to attending performances that showcase the arts. This performance would showcase science and could go a long way to breaking down stereotypes associated with science, in general, and physics in particular.
Please help me bring this entertaining and educational show to the students of my school. I have heard rave reviews from the people who have seen it.
