My Project
My students are curious, hands-on learners who love to explore the world around them. They ask thoughtful questions, observe carefully, and get genuinely excited when they see science come alive. I love how eager they are to care for living things and how deeply they engage when they see real-world applications of what we learn in the classroom.
Our chick hatching project, “Eggs-traordinary Beginnings: Our Chick Hatching Journey,” gives them a front-row seat to the miracle of life.
Through this experience, they will learn about the life cycle, responsibility, animal care, and biology in a way no textbook can replicate. The incubator, candling light, brooder supplies, and feed will provide all the tools necessary for the students to observe each stage of development, from egg to hatchling.
Not only will this project enhance their understanding of science, but it will also nurture empathy, patience, and a strong sense of responsibility. Watching chicks develop and hatch will foster meaningful connections to agriculture, life sciences, and nature — sparking a love of learning that I hope will stay with them forever.
