My Project

My students are lucky enough to visit our school district farm a few times per year. They love learning about agriculture, farming, and raising livestock. We also garden outdoors as well as grow veggies and herbs in our classroom aquaponics and hydroponics systems.

Exposing students to farming practices improves nutrition and healthier eating habits, enhanced physical and mental well-being through outdoor activity and nature connection, and enriched academic learning with real-world applications through STEM!

We are planning on raising our own chicks and releasing them to our school farm. The items we are seeking will incubate their eggs, feed and house our hatched chicks. Students will have daily interaction with the process of hatching and raising their chicks. Students will nature journal their observations, candle the eggs to study development, see the chicks hatch and grow, and care for the chicks until time of release. There are so many learning opportunities here for my students.
