First grade is a time of exploration and growth. My first grade students love to use their creativity and imaginations and to explore when experimenting and engineering projects.
My goal for the students is to get them involved in their learning and loving school.
I want to make school exciting and fun for them. I want to implement fun, hands-on activities that bring excitement to learning. I would love to be able to provide them with more project-based learning opportunities in my classroom. Let's have fun with learning and challenge ourselves at the same time!
My Project
My school is located in Gilbert, Arizona. Our community is diverse and dedicated to building strong learners among our families. Our first graders are curious, inquisitive and enthusiastic about science. As a teacher, I am dedicated to offering my students the best opportunities to explore and to engaging them with the natural world around us. My first graders are most engaged in learning when they have real-life, hands-on experiences. Creating and implementing real life science-based projects helps my students succeed as learners.
Incubating and hatching eggs in our classroom will offer my students an amazing learning experience.
This project will excite and motivate my students. We will examine and explore the chicken life cycle through literature, writing, math and science inquiry. This project will also offer the students the chance to make real world connections with the farmers that still live in our community.
I appreciate this opportunity to help my students grow as learners and to see them excited about exploring our world.
