I have 18 Kindergarten students who are full of curiosity and excitement! My students are bright, eager to learn, and bursting with personality. A large number of our students come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. I strive to provide my students with engaging and diverse opportunities to learn about the big world around them. My hope is that each student leaves my classroom with confidence and a kind heart!
The KEBONNIXS incubator and warmer will allow my students to explore the needs of animals in a hands-on project.
With these materials, my students will be able to watch eggs hatch into chicks from start to finish. The students will learn about the life cycle of chickens, what conditions must be met for eggs to develop and hatch, and then what basic needs the chicks need to survive once hatched. This project-based learning experience will give students the opportunity to explore living things and their needs first hand. We will integrate math and ELA skills in this project as well. Hatching chicks will be an experience that my students learn a lot from and one they will never forget! The document camera will allow the entire school be able to watch what is happening inside the incubator throughout the entire experience!
