My students need two sets of colored folders (one set for periodic assessments and the other set for everyday class work) and one storage station for the folders.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a self-contained class of seventh grade students with special needs. My students' levels in all subject areas ranges from primer to eighth grade. I have 11 students in my class at this time.
My school uses the portfolio system to exhibit assessments that demonstrate a student has achieved success on a particular skill or concept. The school provides a binder for each student. These binders are bulky and hard to store. It is especially hard to find a place to store these binders in a special needs classroom which is smaller than the general education classroom in my school.
Portfolios are collections of student work representing a selection of performance. Portfolios serve to showcase students' accomplishments. A portfolio may contain a student's best pieces and an evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of the completed task.
I often have to help my students achieve basic skills before I can assess them on grade level skills and concepts. It often becomes difficult to keep track of their basic skill achievements and their successes in skills and concepts necessary for promotion to the next grade.
My school provides us with a three inch binder for each student. However, these binders fail to provide a teacher of students with special needs with a place to display their small achievements which may eventually lead to major achievements.
Multi-pocketed project folders would be a great improvement over the binders. Each folder would provide "at-a-glance" information about each child. The project folders would also provide the additional space necessary for the additional assessments my students need throughout the year. Double pocket folders will help my students organize their everyday class work and homework.
Your help will ensure that my students will have a better organized and more efficient classroom. They will be able to learn organizational skills which they can use throughout their educational career.
