This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
COVID-19 has affected us all. Our classrooms remains just as we left in on March 17th, still decorated for St Patricks Day. As teachers we miss our kids; we miss our routine. Our students are stressed about the unknown and miss the socialization they get at school. Now my students are expected to learn from home and there are many challenges with transitioning to virtual learning. They will receive laptops or iPads from the school but not all the students know how to use them. Not all my students have access to basic material like pencils and crayons. I don’t know whether they have food in their home. I want nothing. more than to do everything I can to help them. In my classroom, we have fun and are silly, I want things to be the same while online. I do crazy things to make students laugh and I want to continue to make them smile as much as I can while we are apart.
My Project
In receiving a donation of Teacher Pay Teacher Gift Cards, I will be able to purchase numerous activities from the Teacher Pay Teacher online store. TPT is a place for teachers to share material for various units, projects for distance learning, technology adaptations as well as Curriculum Based Learning, and Literature Studies. Since the stay at home order was put in place teachers have become more and more creative and created many online lessons so students don't have to have so many worksheets and papers at home. These activities will allow students to complete their work online while having fun. The activities are made more like games with drag and drop features as well as beginning typing skills.
Teachers Pay Teachers provide not only teachers but students a new way of learning while meeting all students needs.
Teachers have a place to find alternative ways to teach lessons that bring excitement and engagement to their curriculum. Students benefit from new and exciting materials that the TPT site provides.
Not only will the activities purchase with the gift cards benefit my 2020-2021 students but they will benefit all my future students.
