Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are amazing! They always come to school excited and ready to learn. My students come from many different backgrounds and I have a large portion of Spanish speaking students.
In my classroom we incorporate many different learning strategies including whole group instruction, partner work, classroom discussion and small groups.
I feel so lucky to work with these students on a daily basis!
My Project
These supplies will help our classroom become effective and engaging! As a math and science teacher, we will use these supplies to show our work, illustrate science concepts, and practice our math facts.
Student whiteboards are a huge part of our classroom and our current ones are falling apart.
Students use whiteboards everyday to show their work during whole class instruction as well as small group instruction. New headphones would be a huge upgrade in our classroom. My classroom is very diverse and full of different backgrounds and languages. These headphones would allow for my students to listen to test questions aloud instead of reading them. In 4th grade, students try to master their multiplication and division quick facts. Flashcards would provide a big upgrade to our daily math fact practice. I would also like to provide my students with a large digital clock, many students have not yet learned how to read a hand clock. I do not believe this should disqualify a student from knowing what time it is. Finally, my classroom is always running short on pencils, colored pencils, and expo markers. These supplies would give all my students the best opportunity to be successful in my classroom.
Our classroom likes to think of ourselves as a team. We are always available to help our classmates when in need. The classroom rug requested builds on our classroom sense of community as well as gives our classroom a place to meet during our daily morning meetings.
