My students need their teacher to have a ProBook to use as a way to teach with technology! It's needed for use with the projector, to use educational websites and to assist with self-publishing their own creations.

My Students

After last years initiatives I was determined to get more technology in the hands of my students! We did that and I thank you. We've added several laptops, eReaders and a projector. Now my school laptop is out of date, has many issues and only has one working usb port.

My students will be looping with me for the third year!

Wahoo! I'm one lucky teacher and we will get to continue to learn with technology in our hands. Just as you can help me get a computer my students will gain my classroom laptop for their use as well. My students are readers and they work hard to show their gains through SMART goal setting and working with technology.

My Project

I'm requesting a simple teacher laptop, a HP ProBook, that will hook up to our projector and allow me to continue teaching with technology. I'm not looking for anything fancy, just something that will get the job done and is in working condition. Windows 8 is a plus since the kids will get additional exposure in navigating that system when it is on the projector. My students deserve that. We use sites like ScootPad, Brain Pop, and more as well as to project different organizers for the class to fill in. I'm lucky enough to be able to project to a white board so the students can write directly on what is displayed. But we need a computer that we can rely on for that and as of right now, I'm not even sure if we have a computer for each teacher. The only technology my kids have is literally through the support of donors like you. DonorsChoose has made everything possible for me to be able to Teach with Technology.

Having a working laptop in the classroom will allow me to do more and accomplish more than the current broken laptop or no laptop will allow me to do.

I'm looking for a current system with working USB drives as well as a more up to date operating system. My students will be continuing with Common Core learning this year this will also assist with self-publishing their own creations.
