My Students

What happens to students who fall behind, and they can't keep up with their fellow students? It is hard enough when a student has to acquire new facts and ideas, but when they have a hard time a tablet might be the right tool to help give these students a boost and be able to succeed.

Most of our students are low income students who get reduced and free lunches.

They are a great mix of ethnic backgrounds from African-American, Indian, Middle Eastern, Asian, and Caucasians. They are in 7th and 8th grade learning middle school science, language arts, reading, and social studies. They are a wonderful group of kids who have potential to be great with high aspirations. With the proper guidance and assistance, they can make achievements and bound higher than before.

My Project

A tablet is a tool that students will be able to use in the classroom especially if they have a learning disability. Students will be able to look up definitions to words instantly, be able to type and write, make flash cards, study materials, look up alternate websites, examine materials that are differentiated so that they will be at a level that is suitable for their ability. Teacher will also be able to download level appropriate worksheets that will be different from the rest of the class that the students may be able to complete in a successful manner and not be embarrassed or ashamed. It will inspire students to complete the work needed in class, keep students on task longer, and engage them in a way that will help them to learn in a more efficient way and will help them to use the available technology.

Students who are falling behind need help and support, but many of them do not get adequate support in the classroom.

Giving these students a tablet and having them use it in different subject matter will help give them a boost and leapfrog their way ahead to give them more tools to achieve success, help them grow, and enable them to be able to function at a higher level.
