Educational Software Needed For Small Group Instruction

My students need updated language arts and math computer software to get the most out of our small group instruction time.

My Students

Students tend to master computer skills quickly and without fear! My students love our 30 minutes a week that is spent in the computer lab. It's just not enough. I would love for them to get daily technology time. They love learning through software and games!

My 29 first grade students range drastically in age and ability.

The way I choose to face this challenge is to use small group, ability based instruction for both math and language arts. As a small group rotates to me, the other groups are busy applying recently learned applications at other areas in the room. The boys and girls are excited and eager to learn when technology is involved. To be able to go to a computer rotation and use up to date software that helps master recently taught standards would motivate students and help me focus on my group at hand.

My Project

The computer software that I have carefully selected would be such a benefit to all types of learners, and to the students with varying abilities as well. Carnival Fun, Rockin' Rhyme, Jet Boat Harbor, and Space Sort are a few of the titles that would be fun and motivating! The video game like levels would allow a student still mastering the basics to feel as successful as the student who can read fluently! Some games help kids understand two of the more difficult math standards in first grade; time and money. Please consider providing my class with new, exciting and rewarding computer software.

Kids are motivated by goals and levels. Kids would benefit from this software so much! This software would allow me to get the most out of my computers. This software would allow the students to get the most out of their time with me also. If the other rotations are engaged and focused then I can devote my full attention to my current group. This software would hold their attention and make learning fun and rewarding!
