Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This my first full-time year as a Special Education Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments, so I am seeking help to build sensory/tactile resources for my Braille learners.
I believe that all children should have an equal opportunity to learn and that starts with equal access to their curriculum as well as resources.
My students are eager to learn and want to excel in school. This comes as a challenge for my students with Visual Impairments as we are in need of materials to enhance their educational experience and ensure academic success.
These materials will help my students tremendously. Some specific examples are, the watch will help reinforce the goal of being able to properly tell time. Right now, I am teaching this concept without a braille clock. The tape will help when creating graphs, charts, and diagrams across all content areas. The printer ink will allow work students complete using assistive technology to be printed in print.
