My Students

My students have a great love for learning and exploration of new ideas.

They come from diverse backgrounds and have many different learning styles, strengths, and needs. They all love to get lost in a wonderful adventure within a book and are always looking for their next great reading interest.

Our Title I school is located in a rural town and we are a very close-knit community. Many of the families at our school have been in the district for generations.

My Project

My students love reading graphic novels and these novels offer them the chance to learn about different topics through the graphic novel platform. Not only do they get to learn about some great topics, but then there's the added bonus of having the create your own graphic novel guides. My students love to express their ideas in different ways and this would offer them the opportunity to be able to explain what they have learned through graphic novels. My students would love to know the step-by-step process for creating graphic novels to be able to complete their own as well as have wonderful models to read from.
