This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a School Social Worker at Northstar Elementary, Teresa is dedicated to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for our students. This fundraiser is aimed to provide Teresa with the essential supplies for play therapy, art therapy and bibliotherapy.

Play is the language of children, and play therapy materials are the tools Teresa uses to connect with students on a deeper level.

These materials help children express their emotions, develop social skills and build trust. Through play therapy, students can navigate through difficult situations and build the emotional strength needed for successful learning.

Books are windows to new worlds, and for many students, they are the key to unlocking their potential. By providing a variety of books, we empower children to explore their interests, expand their knowledge, and develop crucial literacy skills. These books not only foster a love for reading but also open doors to endless opportunities for personal growth and academic success.

Art is a universal language allowing children to express themselves in unique ways. By equipping Teresa with art supplies, we encourage self-expression, creativity, and emotional healing. Art provides a safe space for students to process their feelings and experiences, enabling them to cope with challenges and build resilience.

Northstar Elementary is a tapestry of cultures, languages, and traditions that come together to create a rich and vibrant mosaic. Our students hail from diverse backgrounds, each with a unique story to tell. This beautiful blend of cultures is a testament to the strength of our community, and it enriches our classrooms with a wealth of perspectives and experiences.
