Education of S.H.I.E.L.D.

My Students

I teach about 80 students ranging from the age of 9-11 years old. I teach at a title one school, which means the majority, if not all of my students receive free or reduced lunch. They also often have educational gaps that need immediate intervention and intentional support.

My resilient 5th grade students are awesome and uniquely optimistic about their learning experience despite the obstacles they have faced since the beginning of covid-19.

They have found ways to make learning through the computer just as engaging, interactive and fun as well as within the classroom. To be so resilient and adaptive at such a young age, constantly keeps me uplifted and motivates me to fight for their academic success.

My Project

With the funding of this project, my students will be provided with individual sneeze guard shields for their desk. Due to uncertain times due to Covid-19, learning in person can be overwhelming and difficult to manage the most effective health decisions for the classroom environment.

One thing is for certain, students deserve to be in a safe environment while learning and I strongly believe these desk shields will provide a layer of necessary protection for our students.

Safety, comfortability and classroom moral provide a great foundation for effective student learning.
