This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a Title I school in Oakland where teachers and students spend a lot of time partnering with parents and other community members to build a love of learning and curiosity. The first grade students here are a diverse group of language learners with many brand new to the country.

Our students are soccer players, readers, authors, scientists, mathematicians, explorers, runners, and activists.

Our families are hardworking and loving. Our students and their communities are committed to their learning and growth!

My Project

Our learners need your help. After deep budget cuts, our school district can no longer provide the materials requested in this project.

We would like to make sure that we have the necessities to finish the school year strong and ensure the incoming first graders can start the year with a clean, healthy, and well-stocked classroom.

We are out of copy paper, printer toner, and snacks. We've been without functioning headphones which makes it difficult for us to complete our differentiated assignments on programs like ST Math, RAZ Kids, and Lexia Core5. A daily snack will help us be fueled for learning, and disinfecting wipes will help us keep germs away so we can come to school happy and healthy every day! Please help us make every day of learning count!
