Help me give my students a tectonic faults and earth models, map, and Starburst for the Edible Rock Cycle lab.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Tobler's classroom raised $460

My Project
Students love to see scientific phenomenon modeled visually, but they love to make edible models even more! Investigations into geological processes give students a great opportunity to use models to visualize how tectonic plates move and collide. Earthquakes and volcanoes are endlessly fascinating for students, especially my students who live close enough to see the post-eruption crater on Mt. St. Helen's!
In the Starburst Rock Cycle, students model sedimentary rocks with Starburst, transform them into “metamorphic and igneous rocks with the application of heat and pressure, and then, finally, they get to eat their Starburst rocks.
Now that's an investigation that is sure to rock their world!
The tectonic plates model will help students visualize how new crust can be formed under the ocean. These three-dimensional models and engaging edible activities really help bring Geology to life.
