My Students

Living in the northwest provides our students with many ecological habitats to visit outside the classroom. Unfortunately, many of our students do not have access to these areas that we discuss in the classroom. So, why not bring that to them with a river tank ecosystem?!

Our school is in a rural area with a high free/reduced lunch rate.

However, what we lack in funding, we make up in with enthusiasm and a passion for learning. Our students love hands-on lab experiences that prepare them for science field work. We want to provide them with real world experiences that motivate them to excel in the classroom and beyond.

My Project

We are asking for a 20 gallon river tank ecosystem,tank accessories, gravel, and other essential materials. With these materials, we will study a working ecosystem and apply that knowledge to a research project on harmful(especially human)effects taking place in our local ecosystems. This project is inquiry-based, hands on and motivating for the students. Our science students will benefit hands-on experiences to inspire them to love science.

This project is important to our students because they might never have experiences like these.

We strive for our students to become responsible, productive members of society that will more aware of their impact on our planet, especially the northwest.
