My Students
My students have very inquisitive minds and my challenge is to bring them the right materials to develop their problem solving skills and apply them to real world problems.
At our STEM-focused school, we teach the engineering design process through project-based learning.
My second grade students come from a wide variety of backgrounds, but all have eagerness to learn and are developing their passion for connecting to their world outside the classroom.
My Project
My students will use this EcoSTEM Pollinator Kit to investigate the symbiotic relationship between plants and their pollinators, while investigating and designing solutions to problems like lack of insect pollinators in their community and how scientists can help improve the balance of healthy plants and animals in our area.
Through our STEM projects, students are learning about real world problems and working collaboratively to design solutions.
They are our next generation of engineers and great problem solvers and they need the resources to develop these skills at an early age!
