As a gifted and talented facilitator, I work with 2nd-5th grade identified students. My students want to find ways to grasp the connection between risk, success, and failure. They need to understand how their knowledge of strategy will prepare them to make a difference in the world. It is important that I find ways to reach all students concerning all aspects of life. My students have a variety of academic and socioeconomic needs. My students also have a plethora of intellectual and affective needs. My students need to be given methods to face their challenges in the future. By providing my students with a wide variety of resources and supplies, they will be taught how to make a difference in their lives.
By providing my students with various Economic Games, Resources and books, they will be taught many valuable life-changing lessons concerning Economic Strategy.
How better to provide students with an understanding of connections between Economic Strategy and Life than through age appropriate games, resources, and books?
My Project
My students need the opportunity to the see the connection between Economic concepts such as risk and investment. By utilizing games such as the "Managing Money Series", my students will be able to see how they must strategize and risk in order to be successful. The "Game of Life" will be used to show how throughout life many unexpected situations will occur that will effect our Economic Position. The various biographies, such as "Time for Kids: Alexander Graham Bell" will be used to show the risk that is necessary to make a difference in the world. The books, "DK Readers L4: Thomas Edison: The Great Inventor", will be used to conduct a book study on one of the great strategic risk takers of all time.
My students need the various Economic Strategy games and books in order to make a connection between risk and success in Economics!
The various chess games and books will be used to further stress the importance of strategy, while teaching amazing critical thinking skills.
