Over 85 students come to my classroom in order to create, re-enact, perform, simulate, and do social studies. My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds, and in total they speak over a dozen languages at home. As an educator, it is my hope to bring all of their unique perspectives out into the open. Through this exposure to diverse ideas and opinions, we are able to come together as a community.
When my students leave, I want them to walk away with an appreciation for all that the world has to offer.
It is through our shared experiences that we are able to come closer together as a class and community. We then are able to tackle problems previously thought impossible when working alone.
My Project
The 8th grade students will be debuting an economics unit next year and we need help getting ready! The goal of this project is to provide our students with a variety of activities that teach key economic concepts such as: supply and demand; opportunity cost and trade-offs; investments and savings; along with several other important concepts.
Learning should be fun and memorable!
With this project that will be possible. Students will be able to read about entrepreneurs through history from the numerous "Who is..." collection. The building block sheets will be used for a lesson on business planning. While all the games will be used as a model for teaching behavioral economics.
