My Students

My students are a great group of students who are filled with a lot of energy. My students are a mixture of Brooklyn natives and recent immigrants to the country. Many of my students have the extra challenge of learning the basic NYS regents based curriculum along with developing their understanding of the English language. This extra challenge can create a hurdle when it comes to ensuring that my students walk out of their high school doors as financially literate adults. This is why intertwining financial literacy and academics is so important

My Project

Financial literacy and economics matter! Many students enter college not knowing how the economy works and why it matters. Without this knowledge they are entering the world without proper tools to navigate the world.

Students often leave high school and accumulate debt due to lack of knowledge, I refuse to let this happen to my students!

The supplies requested will allow students to gain insights and knowledge on the world of economics and financial literacy. Students will gain the tools to navigate the world around them and gain the experience needed to make educated financial decisions for their future. Books, workbooks and printed material that are relevant to their lives will allow me to support their futures.
