Our students love robots and what better way to expose them to Economics Literacy than through the use of robots! The Marty humanoid robots are the most exciting tool for making STEM learning engaging for all students. Marty is designed for educators and learners, is simple to use, incredibly robust and absolutely state of the art. And Marty can walk, dance and eyebrow-wiggle like no rolling robot can! Marty is equipped with a unique walking mechanism, with each individual limb controlled by a separate motor. This means Marty can turn, kick a ball and so much more, while also being more stable than other walking robots. Marty comes with extensive technical support from our dedicated team, and an ever-growing set of curriculum-linked lessons and activities suitable for beginners, intermediate and advanced coders.
My plan is to utilize Marty with a lesson about the economics behind robots with books I already have about robots and how they are manufactured.
How have robots changed the way we do things? What do they do for our economy? I want my students to be able to look at Marty and make economic connections and understand the behind the scenes of the people who make them and how robots are used to help us every day. My students are special because they may come from a low-income, rural background, but they don't let lack of funding stop them from their joy of learning!
More than half of students from low‑income households
