Our class is made up of diverse students who learn through many different modalities. There are many ways to reach each student through differentiation and STEM activities.
Differentiation in the classroom can help all students demonstrate their knowledge through their individual paths of learning.
The foam people will be used for students to demonstrate their knowledge of organs in the body and their functions. The felt board will be used as a visual to show students whole group placement of organs, and their functions as well as a way to study individually or with partners. The goal is for students to be able to construct an explanation supported by evidence for how the body is composed of interacting systems consisting of cells, tissues, and organs working together to maintain homeostasis. STEM kits will be used to teach students about animal and plant cells.
The tree finder books will help students to learn how to use a dichotomous key.
