My Students

Students love stories. When you find an exceptional book that relates to science it is great to integrate reading a book into science class.

We want to improve our reading!

We have many low readers and getting practice reading is always a plus. Learning about science in a fun and exciting book like "Hoot" is a project the kids look forward to. I am hoping this book will get them interested in science and reading.

My Project

Each year the sixth grade will get to enjoy reading this book in science class. We will read and discuss the book as a class. Readers will have the opportunity to take the book home if they get behind or are absent, and the study guide will allow us to get the most out of our reading.

Reading this book will give the students an opportunity to really think about the environment and how they can make a difference.

Sometimes it is hard for kids to realize that they can make a difference in the world and that the choices they make affect many things.
