My Project

Our project on DonorsChoose aims to bring an enriching and inclusive learning experience to our first-grade special needs students through engaging picture books and models centered around Hawaii's animals and volcanoes. By incorporating these specific items into our curriculum, we aim to make learning more accessible and captivating for our diverse learners. The picture books will serve as valuable resources, allowing students to visually explore and comprehend the unique wildlife and geological features of Hawaii. Additionally, the accompanying models will provide tactile and interactive learning opportunities, enhancing their understanding through hands-on experiences.

Our goals for this project extend beyond acquiring materials; we strive to foster a love for learning and exploration among our students.

With these resources, we aim to create a thematic unit that not only aligns with academic standards but also celebrates the cultural richness of Hawaii. Our students, with their diverse backgrounds and unique learning needs, deserve an educational experience that embraces their individuality and inspires curiosity.
