My Project
My AP Environmental Science students are eager to learn about how our environment works together to maintain a sustainable and homeostatic life process! My goal is to get them the materials they need to create their own mini ecosystems. These materials can be used for years to come!
Help my students create their own ecosystems for authentic scientific observations and learning!
The materials I am asking for will be used for an Eco column project where students will be able to grow an ecosystem while also taking data on the levels of the gases and nutrients that are cycled through a natural ecosystem.
Students will be able to physically see their plants grow, and test the soil to observe healthy and unhealthy soil nutrient levels. They will be able to see how the soil affects an aquatic ecosystem and the dissolved oxygen in the water. Through this data they will physically and visually learn about the cycles of matter and energy through interactions of biotic and abiotic factors in their created ecosystem.
