Eco Friendly Rocket Cloud Cards

My Students

My students are K.I.D.S. They are knowledgeable, inquisitive, determined, and successful. The school they attend serves a low-income area. For many students, school is sometimes the most consistent part of their day. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been very consistent. I have great pride in my students. My school is located in a rural area. Recently our district has consolidated schools. We have students from four communities combining to create new grade bands and schools.

We are the hidden gems of the school district.

The students in my class are thirsty for knowledge. They come to school ready to learn. This year the first nine weeks will be distant learning. This won't stop them from wanting to learn. In fact, it has fueled them. They have big goals, ideas, and hearts.

My Project

Students practice spelling words and sounds in class. We often do this on dry erase boards. While reusable, makers dry out easily, pens get messy, and are not a close proximity to the writing experience on paper.

Rocket Cloud Cards are reusable index cards that can be scanned and saved.

Students can demonstrate progress by writing on the cards. Using an app the cards can be scanned and saved in Google drive. This allows me to save documentation of the work students are doing. It will be valuable data to review the intervention process.

The Frixion pens from Pilot are need in order for the Rocket Cards to be reusable. The size on the pen and the paper the cards are made on is a close experience to writing on paper. The microfiber towels and water bottles will assist and cleaning the cards. The index card box will safely store cards. This is a great way to save work while saving on paper waste.
