This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are avid readers who miss attending our Elementary School Library Space. They are inquisitive, creative, and bucket fillers. Despite the budget cuts that our schools experience in the inner city of Chicago, our elementary school persists in supporting our inquisitive, avid readers through our library program.

As a teacher-librarian, I encourage reading and information exploration.

Our library program is an essential part of our school. We value the power of information that comes from reading. Even through Remote Learning, the students are wanting to check out books to read, wonder, discover, explore, create, and question the world around them through the reading of a good book.

My Project

Our kiddos need your help! As a Librarian I want to put books into each and everyone of my students's hands. The lack of school funds, school closings, and a Pandemic is limiting my student's access to books. Ebooks are a safe way to have students read books in the comfort of their homes.

Our Library circulation needs ebooks for K-8th grade students to check out.

Ebooks that celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, graphic novels, biographies, diverse chapter and picture books are desperately needed in our library collection to share among more than 700 students.
