We have added a ton of Easy Reader book this school year to our school library. We currently have two of these floor standing spinner displays that barely display and hold the books we owned at the start of the school year. We will need at least two more spinner shelves to hold all of the new books. The project is for (1) spinner shelf. Our students are so careful to spin this rack slowly by touching the wood shelf parts. They have learned how to be kind and courteous when other friends are looking. My students dialogue about the books they are excited to read while browsing at the books. This area of our library is a hot spot of reading discussion and excitement for books.
Help us add this spinner shelf to showcase and display our new diverse character easy reader books like: Astrid & Apollo (Hmong), Liam the Lion (Native American), Princess Truly, (African American), Geraldine Pu (Taiwanese), Camila the Star (Hispanic), and Ali the Great (Pakistani).
We have the books. Now we need to put them on shelves for our students to find. I love that these shelves are the right height for our students. The students are so eager to read and I would love to get our new books on display in the same location. Until this project is funded our easy reader books will have to be in two locations making it difficulty for students to find these new diverse books.
