My Students

Our school is a wonderful community where everyone strives to meet the needs of all students, not just those in their own classroom! For many of my students, I am the first teacher to engage them in learning, opening the doors for exploration and make them feel safe and loved.

My students learn through hands-on, discussions, and discovery methods of learning.

They are very supportive of each other and great problem solvers. Our campus is a magnet school for ESL and Autistic students. All teachers are also GT qualified and ESL certified to support these populations in the classrooms.

My Project

We are lucky enough to have ipads for every students in the classroom to aid in individual learning. We use these ipads to aid in instruction with video and audio directions that students use to meet their learning needs. Our district also uses dreambox for math intervention and with out ipads we don't have to rely on our 1 or 2 days of computer lab time to utilize this tool.

Technology can be great learning tool when students have access to materials for learning on their own level.

With Seesaw and programs such as dreambox and teacher your monster to read my students can really learn on their level. This engagement increases greatly when students can really focus on their task which is where quality headphones come in. Headphones can be tricky to find quality when you are trying to buy for a whole classroom. In addition, you must consider pairs that allow for safe use with children who are not always consider volume control. The fishbone adaptors will also aid in helping students take care of their device and headphones by providing some security to prevent the headphone jacks from breaking in the ipads.
