My Students

My new (to me) classroom has a dry erase board that is so old and worn, it does not erase. My kids are going to need something that we can all work on to help master all kinds of skills!

I teach is a Louisiana public school.

Most of my students qualify for free and reduced lunch, so this school is considered a low-income school. We have a large population of students who are learning English. The school does not really offer a budget to buy things for the classroom, so resources and materials come mainly out of my own pocket. However, I love my students and my job! I couldn't imagine doing anything else!

My Project

I am asking for a teacher easel. This easel will have a dry erase/magnetic side for classroom instruction. We will be able to problem solve and learn how to read and write. It also offers a chart-holding side, so we can use it to reference past skills! First graders are just learning how to read, so they need a lot of visual clues to help them to master skills. This easel will provide many opportunities for me to write the words as I say them, draw pictures, and explain concepts more fully.

My students deserve to have learning tools that are in working order.

Our current dry erase board is deplorable. Sticking in them in a below the bar classroom will provide a below the bar education. Please help me to provide my students with great learning experiences!
