Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our class is comprised of 32 second graders whom are heterogeneously mixed. Students are from various ethnic backgrounds and speak different languages. They are mostly from low socioeconomic backgrounds. They have a strong belief in justice and fairness. I build upon these ideals to create a community of learners. The class rules are built around this and so are the consequences and rewards.
We have a growth mindset philosophy.
This helps each student understand that the hard work and feeling of pride is the greatest reward.
My Project
There are many ways that my classroom will be easier with this easel.
This easel will aid me in showing my students visuals during different modes of instruction.
The easel will enable me to teach whole group lessons. Using the white board makes it easy for students to see the visual even from the back of the room. The easel also has chart paper rings. This allows me to show visuals that I create on the chart tablet. The storage on the bottom will keep the dry erase markers and materials for each lesson safe and organized for instruction. The easel can also be used by students as a way to reinforce learning.
