My Project
Hello there! I teach 7th Grade Math at a title I campus where the majority of my students come from income restricted households. They don't have access to the learning materials at home like a lot of other students do. My students also struggle with knowing their self-worth and capabilities. We spend a lot of time learning to trust ourselves and that it's okay to make mistakes. I teach my students that they should always try and ask questions and as long as they're doing their part they'll find success!
The post it easel pads will be used for students to create alternative ways to display their thinking and show creativity!
I've requested whiteboard markers so students will feel safer taking risks knowing they can just "wipe away" something if it's not right. The thicker markers also make it easier for me to peep what they are working on from across the room. :) I requested snacks and stickers to use as extrinsic motivators.
My students have come so far this year, and I'm looking forward to surprising them with some new things to increase their motivation to keep pushing through!
