This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
One of my students' favorite things is to proudly share their answers with the class on the whiteboard. Sharing would be made much easier with a double-wide, magnetic easel!
I teach at Title 1 school in North Carolina.
My students have extremely diverse ethnic and racial backgrounds and even more diverse academic backgrounds ranging from below grade level to above grade level. My school has a 96% free and reduced lunch population and a high number of English Language Learners.
Despite their backgrounds, my students come to school everyday fighting for an excellent education. They are hardworking and very motivated to learn.
My Project
This easel would make such a difference in our classroom. Our big books would no longer be sliding down while reading. Storage of markers, math and science manipulatives and white boards would no longer be in boxes on the floor. Students could freely come to practice their handwriting on the printed side of the board. It could also be used during workshop with magnetic letters or a big books station. This easel would also make predictions and outcomes during science experiments easier to see.
This easel would build my student's confidence for sharing answers and be extremely helpful to have during every lesson of the day.
It would really help my students become the teachers of the class.
