My students need art supplies, a teaching easel and ink for our classroom printer.
My classroom consists of 42 Kindergarteners that come from homes in an urban district. Attracting students from all over the city, my classroom is unique in the way it brings together children and families from so many diverse backgrounds. Ethnically, my students are a microcosm of the city we live in. My students are children from a broad range of economic classes and cultural backgrounds. My students are eager to learn and I want to make their learning experience as positive and engaging as possible.
Proximity is important in kindergarten and the teaching easel will allow me to be closer to my students while I teach them. The easel will also keep the supplies near so that I don't lose valuable teaching time grabbing supplies from all over the room. Kindergarteners love their art time. The oil pastels and paints will be used to make wonderful creations and replace the worn down and broken paints and pastels we have. The printer ink will allow us to print communications, pictures and make signs for our young readers. The signs will support our young learners by making their environment one that is rich in text. All of these items will give us the resources needed to have a successful and colorful year.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
