I work in an inclusive, mainstream, Kindergarten classroom. I have 25 students, half of whom have never been to preschool. These are great children who are ready to learn.
I am happy to say that I work with the most enthusiastic, amazing group of children.
They come to school every day with smiles on their faces and excitement in their souls.
Attending an inner-city school, many of these children lack the experiences that they need to be successful in the Common Core curriculum. I want to change this!
My Project
Currently in my classroom, I have an easel that is very old and broken. We are not allotted enough money on a yearly basis to purchase a new one even if I used every dollar given to me. This is something that I use on a daily basis and I am in desperate need of a new one!
A classroom easel is an important part of every single day in a kindergarten classroom.
We use it to model curriculum, practice curriculum, store necessities, and have students interact during whole group.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
