Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are in kindergarten and first grade. They are from low income households and a majority of our students are on free or reduced price lunch. While our students face many challenges, they always come to school ready to learn! I want all of my students to be excited about coming to school and learning regardless of the challenges they face at home. Every child deserves to come to school where they feel comfortable, happy and engaged in the learning process!
My Project
An easel for our classroom would gurantee a consist learning area to build better readers and writers. Students love interactive writing and writing their own sentences and stories. This is difficult to do this accomplish without an easel. Students will be coming up to the easel and writing what they have learned and practicing their handwriting as well as using their letter sound knowledge to spell words.
We would use this easel throughout the day in our classroom.
The easel will also be used during morning message and a variety of activities. I hope to have the class be more student driven by allowing students to share their knowledge on the easel. The markers are an added bonus. Oftentimes they run out of markers. This package will be used throughout the year.
