My students need Big Easel Self-Stick Paper for their cooperative learning groups when they share ideas in front of the class in science and health, balloons for lung models we will make in class for one of our respiratory system lessons, and a bottle of iodine to be used in our vitamin C testing lab.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Hi, I teach seventh grade life science and health at a school in California. I love what I do and am constantly trying to figure out new ways to get my students to learn.
I'd like to have more cooperative learning activities where students share ideas on a big sheet of white Easel Paper which they can stick up on the front board and share their ideas with the class. For example, in genetics, I might have groups come up with their own pedigree chart or Punnett Square problem to explain to the class. For health, I might have students brainstorm and come up with positive things that come from not using tobacco and negative things that can come from using. There are many more ideas, these are just a couple ways they would be used.
I think incorporating more group work makes class more interesting for students, and its good for me because it allows me to see what they are really understanding and what they already know. Plus, kids love to talk, so this way they can talk about the work and then talk to the class about their work.
By donating to this project you will be making it possible for my students to express themselves in a fun and creative way. They will be able to work together as a team and take turns talking about their group's work. Thank you so much for your time!
