Hi there! I teach Life Science one semester and another semester of Health Science at a public school in Los Angeles. I love the school I am at, as well as the students I work with.
I recently received an Easel White Board to supplement my lessons, as the class room I am in only has chalk boards. I will be writing on it during lessons at times, but I would also like to use it to post students' work. If I had Easel writing sheets, I could have students work clipped on the board to share with the class. Some times my students will work in groups of four and come up with lists for me. For example, I might ask them to come up with ten benefits of not smoking, or healthy ways to deal with stress. They would brainstorm ideas then write them on their big sheets of paper. Afterwards, I could post their answers on the Easel Board and share their responses with the class.
I would love it if I could have these sheets donated to my class, as they can get pretty expensive. It would allow me to see what my students already know about a particular topic.
Your donation will help to promote student engagement, learning, and group discussions among peers. Having writing sheets for them will keep the class on topic and will help to keep the class interesting and fun for the kids. I had a student come up to me recently and tell me that my class was her most favorite ever. I told her this might be because she likes health, and she responded with,"Well yeah, but it's not just that. It's your class. You always mix things up. We do art, lessons on the power point thing, labs...In my other classes we mainly do book work and its boring." I thought that was sweet to hear and helped to remind me that it pays to be creative in the class. It is more work and more money, but in the end the students stay engaged and they learn. Please help me keep things creative and alive in my classroom! Thank you very so much!
