My Students
The marker board is too far removed from the students' minds. Bringing an easel closer to them will enhance their learning by giving them the opportunity to be more involved.
My students come from a wide mix of social and economic situations.
But, all students are eager to learn.
We have high poverty and are situated in an area where we have a minority population. Many of those in poverty are also minorities. By providing small group learning with this easel - I can help those students coming to school with lower academic achievement reach their potential.
My Project
With the dire economic times there is zero dollars for classroom furniture - let alone simple supplies. I would like to bring the "board" to the students instead of bringing students to the "board". Having a movable instructional cart would maximize my effectiveness as a teacher by reaching small groups more efficiently.
Donations to this project would allow more effective small group instruction to benefit all students, but primarily poverty and minority students.
