Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from homes that often live at or below the poverty level. They will be in many cases the first to attend college. They often struggle with English as their second language.
My students are also funny and clever and smart in so many ways.
They have ideas and they want to have a voice in what happens in their lives. They also ask so many interesting questions. They are concerned with the world around them.
They are kids striving to become successful adults. This can be a challenge, but their silliness is often just what we need to get to the next step. We work hard as a team to learn skills that will help us in our lives.
My Project
We have limited board space better used for the actual lesson than the daily agenda. A whiteboard easel will be easy to find and a great way for students to know what's up.
Additionally, we need to be organized and have binders to keep our materials together.
Markers, highlighters and pencils can make all the difference as we read, write, listen and speak.
To provide a positive learning environment, even these simple items make a huge impact on motivation, inspiration and innovation. My students deserve a classroom that is inviting, colorful and safe. And these items can make that happen.
