Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year my school, located in Bronx, NY, opened another second grade ICT classroom. I am so honored and excited to be the teacher assigned to work with these incoming second graders. As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students with special needs are faced with several challenges each day. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to provide my students with meaningful learning experiences and design a classroom setting which nurtures individual learning, social and emotional needs. I often motivate my students through participation in whole group activities and most of all, provide a supportive, safe and positive environment each and every day.

My Project

The easel will be used as a place to display anchor charts, a whiteboard for teacher-led instruction and student participation and a magnetic surface for manipulating word study and math materials.

The easel will make our whole group learning more engaging, enjoyable and more accessible to the students.

Having this easel will allow me to put all the materials we need for our lessons in one spot. It will be easy to get out materials we need for a reading, writing, math, or spelling lessons.

I will be able to make lessons more interactive, and all students will be able to see everything!
