My Students

Learning in one language is hard enough, but try learning in two everyday. My scholars rise to the occasion daily. My classroom is a dual language class with the goal of creating bilingual scholars who are equally fluent in both languages. To accomplish that my students need hands on learning.

My class is full of 26 very eager bilingual students.

They love learning and challenging one another. Our school is in a low income neighborhood and our student body is mostly Hispanic. My students are proud of their roots, but our looking towards their futures. They have big goals and dreams and work collaboratively to accomplish them.

My Project

Our classroom lacks somewhere to write and the board would give the students a way to display their thinking and teach one another. They would also use the board to write and practice their language use. The storage part of the easel would be used to store word stations and math stations in a way that is easily accessible for the students. They will learn how the become independent learners and how to work as a team.

This project will give my students a place to display their thinking and work with both of their languages.

Along with giving them a space to write and teach one another, it will organize reading and math activities for them with the storage space.
