My students are new to the middle school environment, and always look forward to a new day at school. You can see the excitement in their faces, as they happily and anxiously walk into to my class. They are always excited to see what the day will unfold.
The educational experiences they encounter brings them one step closer to a successful future.
This belief is reflected in their faces.
My students face struggles on a daily basis, yet they still manage to show up every day, and work hard for a better future. The vast majority are underprivileged, and come from low socio-economic backgrounds. For some, school is their stable and safe refuge.
Day in, and day out, my students see how much their parents sacrifice for them. That is why they are eager; they deeply desire a better future for themselves, and their families.
Our school is a safe place for my students in that we have small classroom sizes, and focus on educational experiences that meet their needs in order to prepare them for college. Teachers and staff work together to create a nurturing, and safe environment that allows our students to grow, and be successful.
The drying is much needed in our art class because currently, the students place their "wet" artwork on a butcher paper that is laid on the floor.
A drying rack for their artwork would make a world of a difference in our art class.
We would no longer have to worry about anything getting stepped on or ruined. The students can confidently go about creating their work without the possibility of it being accidentally altered by others. This would also allow for the (limited) space in our classroom to be used wisely. A vertical stand would be extremely effective and helpful for years to come!
