Earth, Sweet Home

Help me give my students big and small books to learn about Planet Earth. A double sided bamboo teaching easel will have plenty of space to store all of the big books and remain visible to everyone.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are special because they are 6 and 7 year old kids that come from low income families with difficult backgrounds. Many have overcome various challenges in life. However, they all have an enormous desire to learn and a growth mindset. For these students school is everything. It's a safe place where they feel protected, loved and heard.

My goal is to teach my students about the environment and the beauty of our planet and how we, as humans, can make this world a better place to live in.

In order to do so, I have chosen a variety of big books and regular size books that will teach my students about this topic.

After reading the stories we will create different student centered projects. The students will have to pretend to be scientists solving the different problems that we are currently facing in our planet nowadays. This will definitely empower the next generation of problem solvers and innovators. I strongly believe that these read-alouds and projects will ignite curiosity and enthusiasm for the environment and our planet in our students.
