Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This project will allow my students to engage and access curriculum within the classroom that provides opportunities for students to be actively involved in the learning process that are aligned to the state standards.
My students are in a multiage 4-6th grade Mild/ Moderate Disabilities Special Day Class.
100% of my students are considered Title I and are from varied socio-economic backgrounds. My students enjoy working in whole group as well as in small cooperative groups where they are able to receive immediate feedback, consistent checks for understanding and positive reinforcement. This project will engage all my students through meeting 21st Century Learning Skills as well as embracing positive student learning.
My Project
My students need an iPad 2 with case, an Apple TV, and an HDMI to VGA cable. The Apple TV will wirelessly display any content from the iPad 2 to the classroom LCD projector. These materials will enable my students to access instruction throughout the classroom. This will enable to me (the teacher) to oscillate the classroom more and foster active student engagement, and on task learning. The iPad 2 and Apple TV will also enable me foster individual accountability for each one of my students.
Earth Science is extremely important to all our students.
The Earth Science unit allows each student to "dive" into the different mini lessons for example: ecosystems, minerals and rocks as well as life cycles of many animals.
