"Success is measured by effort." My students apply this quote as they have learned to put forth effort and be understanding and flexible with the resources our school can provide.
I currently have 30 very energetic and enthusiastic second graders that come to school with a kind heart and an amazing attitude.
We have as many as 10 different languages spoken at our school. Although these students don't have a lot of worldly possessions, their personalities and resilience certainly make up for it. What amazes me about my students, is that many of them face other challenges outside of the classroom and yet, they still manage to accomplish so much, without the support we take for granted. My students remind me each day what the important things in life truly are.
My Project
Earth is amazing in all its grandeur and beauty. What lives on earth is even more amazing. My students will be focusing on insects, plants, and animals located in different areas, on land and the sea. I would like them to get up close and personal by using microscopes and slides, that depict the different types of insects and plant life. They can also use the insect discovery kit and specimen center to expand their knowledge on these subjects. The viewers and earth science posters, will be a fantastic addition to our research center, where children can collaborate and research the given topic more in-depth. Your donation during these hard economic times is very much appreciated.
