My Project
My classroom is full of curious, creative, and energetic young learners who are always eager to explore the world around them. I teach K–5 students in a special education setting, where each child brings their own spark and unique way of learning. My students shine when given the chance to learn by doing. Whether it's building, crafting, or storytelling, their excitement is contagious when they get to learn with their hands and hearts.
This project will turn big environmental ideas into unforgettable, hands-on experiences—empowering my students to see themselves not just as learners, but as young Earth heroes!
My students learn best through hands-on activities, visual supports, and creative play that let them show what they know in their own way. That’s why this project is all about making the magic of the natural world come alive through art, sensory exploration, and interactive learning. We'll use TOOB animal figurines to dive into different ecosystems, build habitats, and tell stories about who lives where and why. Weather counters, a “pet tornado,” and sensory tubes will help us experience seasons and climate change in real time. We’ll sort recyclables, make Earth-themed art with paint sticks and rubbing plates, and read books that spark conversations about taking care of our planet.
