Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help our students spend the afternoon learning how to plant and grow plants. At our school, we host an Earth Day festival. One of the main attractions of our festival is a local gardener who shows the students how to plant and care for plants. Our students will use their unique styles to decorate their individual terra-cotta pots and then plant their own succulent plant.

Help us out by giving us our terra-cotta pots and the markers to decorate the pots with.

The students enjoy expressing themselves and this gives them that opportunity. It's really fun to see these 15, 16, and 17 year old kids who act so tough normally, all of a sudden act like a little kid coloring and painting little pots. For just a little while their difficult lives drop away and they just get to be kids!
